N A K I T A !

Buffalo NY, January 22, 2012 ---

This is Nakita!   Nakita joined the family three days ago. Nakita is a female husky mix. Her fur is short but double coated like a husky. She is shedding!

She is a special rescued dog from North Carolina. Her rescue and adoption was made possible by wonderful skilled and dedicated people who really care about dogs! Nakita is affectionate, has a voracious appetite and endless energy. She also has a mind of her own and is proving to be a real challenge.

She is adapting well to a more active life style. Today and yesterday Nakita hiked and jogged four miles on the snowy park trails in the morning and ran free at the fenced in quarter mile track with Bella in the afternoon. She can not yet run as fast or as long as Bella but she is very strong.

Dog hug. In the background the house is littered with dog toys. Nakita picked out several new toys at PetSmart herself, but she loves every dog toy, especially if another dog is playing with it.

Bella is about to lose her toy ...

Fast running at the snow covered track

More track action!

Siobhan walks the dogs. A thirsty Bella is scooping up a mouthful of snow. Nakita picked up the same trait immediately.

Both dogs adore Siobhan. Here the dogs are getting a simultaneous belly rub.

The dogs enjoy a post breakfast "chicken-covered rawhide chewy" treat.

Nakita savors her dog "chewy" treat! It always takes her many minutes longer than Bella to finish.

Nakita keeps a sharp lookout for bad guys, dogs and squirrels through the picture window -- from her new throne.
